About Sweet & Sour Bliss
We are a small, family owned company based in Los Angeles County, that started as a school project. We were supporting our 7 year old in her endeavor to create a business for a school assignment. We decided that real fermented sauerkraut would sell better than cupcakes, candles or water balloons. What? Sauerkraut? Really? Yes, and our 7 year old was totally right. We sold out the first batch and even the first graders loved it. When children love your raw, fermented sauerkraut you know you have tapped into something. And a business was born.
Our focus is on healthy foods made in small batches that we want to eat. Our all natural, artisan products are gluten free, paleo friendly and contain organic ingredients. Our fermented products are raw, probiotic powerhouses. We don’t put anything in our products that we wouldn’t want our own children to eat.
Who are We?
Chief Fermentation Officer– Mommy was born and raised in Zwickau, Germany. Fermented products were a part of my upbringing. Here in Los Angeles, I couldn’t find real crisp, raw, fermented sauerkraut like I used to eat by the handful from barrels back in my hometown.
The Designer– Our 9 year old designed the original cabbage logo for the school project. We decided the new logo needed to have a cabbage on it.
The Taster– Our 6 year old loves to test all of our products. He is very good at eating all of them.
The Originator– We wouldn’t have a business without our 7 year olds original idea for a school project.
Chief Support Officer– Daddy helps when he can with the website and financial stuff. He was never much of a sauerkraut eater until he tasted the Sweet and Sour Bliss Sauerkraut. Now he eats it every day.
